(b. Selangor, 1991)
Tomi Heri is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is informed by everyday observations of life. He observes and picks up situational moments in which people interact and relate to each other and the things and objects around him. Distilling these narrations into multi-layered works, Tomi often explores and uses new materials to find better ways to represent these worlds, creating an unpredictable and exciting juxtaposition.
Tomi Heri graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Technology degree from the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and has participated in various group exhibitions across Malaysia, including at the National Visual Art Gallery and the Terengganu State Museum. Internationally, he has shown his work in Indonesia and South Korea. In 2020, Tomi Heri presented a solo exhibition titled “SG. By Tomi Heri” at The Backroom @ The Zhongshan Building, Kuala Lumpur.
