(b. Kuala Lumpur, 1991)
Mark Tan obtained his Drawing and Applied Arts Bachelor of Arts from the University of the West of England. His choice of artistic media includes photography, drawing, and printmaking. His various configurations become sensory fragments that investigate the methodologies of mark-making. The psychological spaces of memory as a site of constant flux are then used as a trigger for Tan’s practice. His solo exhibitions included “A Collapsible Time”, presented by SNAP and ZLG Design Architecture Firm, Kuala Lumpur in 2020 and “Arrangements” at OUR ArtProjects, Kuala Lumpur in 2017. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions since 2012, namely “Grids and Lines (A New Refutation Of)” at The Backroom @ The Zhongshan Building, Kuala Lumpur and “Leaving Traces” at Hin Bus Depot, Penang, in 2023.
