Izat Arif is a visual artist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Drawing at Camberwell College of Art in 2012. His works include drawings, objects, videos, and installations highlighting contradictions and inconsistencies in contemporary sociopolitical contexts through role-play and popular culture. He has participated in several group exhibitions, including “Paraphrase” (2023) at A+ Works of Art, Kuala Lumpur; CIMB Art and Soul Art Fair “Curtain Call” (2022) at Menara Ken, TTDI, Kuala Lumpur, and CIMB Hotel Art Fair 2022 at Element Hotel, Kuala Lumpur presented by A+ Works of Art; “Ilham Art Show 2022” at Ilham Gallery, Kuala Lumpur; “Travel Agency” presented by A+ Works of Art at Artspace @ Helutrans Singapore (2022), and more. In 2023, his work “Selera Lokal, Citarasa Internasional” was displayed at the Jogja National Museum during ArtJog 2023 themed “Motif: Lamaran”, co-curated by Nadiah Bamadhaj.
