(b. Perak, 1930 - d. 2009)
Mansor Ghazalli studied at Clifford School Kuala Kangsar followed by Institut Latihan Perguruan in Johor (1952) and the Specialist Teachers Institute in Kuala Lumpur. He pursued undergraduate studies majoring in graphic design in Brighton, England in 1962. In 2009, he was honoured with his first solo exhibition called The Art of Mansor Ghazalli 1953 – 2008 at RA Fine Arts, Kuala Lumpur. An excerpt from the exhibition catalogue reads: “Mansor Ghazalli readily admits that he paints for pleasure. If a work is unfinished, for whatever reason, it is because he does not need to finish it. He seldom re-paints, once the oils are dried. Mansor Ghazalli selects the barest outlines, just enough to go on, to begin tickling his picture-making adrenaline. He never knows what the painting is going to look like. The important thing for him is to begin; whatever happens at the end of the session happens.”
