Mohd Fazli Othman

b. Kedah, 1982

Mohd Fazli Othman is an academician and an artist. He lectures in fine art at his alma mater, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), and simultaneously produces artworks. His paintings reflect on socio-political themes, issues of propaganda and control, the Malaysian way of life, society’s relationship to the world, and our responsibility to our ecological footprint.

He obtained a diploma in Fine Art in 2003 at UiTM, Seri Iskandar Perak. He then continued his studies in Fine Art at UiTM Shah Alam and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2005 and a Master of Fine Art in 2011. He is currently a lecturer in Fine Art at the Faculty of Painting and Design, UiTM, Shah Alam. He has also been actively participating in exhibtiions at home and abroad since 2004, including “Contemporary Malaysian Arts Exhibition”, National Art Gallery Bangladesh, “Animalia – 4 Man Show”, Pelita Hati Gallery Kuala Lumpur, “Reflection / Projection of Content”, Yogyakarta Indonesia, “Four Corners” (Four-Man Show) at HOM Art Trans Kuala Lumpur and many more. He also participated in the Young Contemporaries Competition 2016, organised by the National Art Gallery, with a monumental painting, “Selamat Datang Ke Pesta Pisang Di Kampung Batang Pisang”.
