Yusof Ghani

(b. Johor, 1950)

Yusof Ghani is an accomplished senior artist whose artistic practice began in the early 1980s. Celebrated for his energetic and vibrant series of work such as Tari; Protest; Topeng; Wayang; Hijau; Segerak; Biring; Wajah and Ombak, Yusof Ghani’s dynamic paintings emanate a sense of movement, humanity, social activity, and nature. His inspirations derive from his traveling experience and his environment. In 1981, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Graphic Art) from the George Mason University, Virginia, the U.S and received a Master of Fine Art in Painting from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., the U.S in 1983. Over the years, his artworks have been displayed in numerous international art exhibitions namely in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Russia, United States of America, and Canada.
