Suhaimi Fadzir

(b. Perak, 1963)

Suhaimi Fadzir, an interdisciplinary artist based in Langkawi, explores the intersections of art, architecture, history, and culture through his non-traditional, research-based practice. Educated at Washington University, St. Louis, USA, he has garnered numerous awards in art, architecture, and design. His international exhibitions include the 12th, 13th, and 14th Venice Biennale (Architecture) in 2010, 2012, and 2014, the Meiji University Museum, Tokyo (2011), and the Dublin Biennial, where he won the Award of Excellence in 2012. His two-person show with Ansel Adams at the Schmidt Art Center, Illinois (2010), Art Basel Miami Week, and a solo show organised by Saatchi Gallery, London (2013) further highlight his global achievements. His practice, termed “Archipainting”, fuses fine art with architectural deconstruction, offering nuanced commentary on contemporary society, memory, and time.
